Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Ingredients

• 6 frozen skinless, boneless chicken chest halves
• 1 (12 ounce) bottle barbeque sauce
• 1/2 cup Italian salad dressing
• 1/4 cup brown sugar
• 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Directions

1. Place chicken in a slow cooker. In a bowl, mix the barbecue sauce, Italian salad dressing, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over the chicken.
2. Cover, and cook 3 to 4 hours on High or 6 to 8 hours on Low.

Asian Salisbury Steaks with Sauteed Watercress

Back in the 19th century, an English doctor named J.H. Salisbury prescribed beef for all manner of ailments. We think he'd love this healthy update of the ground-beef-and-onions classic that bears his name. The sautéed watercress is an excellent foil to the meaty glazed beef.

INGREDIENTS

• 6 ounces 90%-lean ground beef
• 1/3 cup finely diced red bell pepper
• 1/3 cup chopped scallions
• 2 tablespoons plain dry breadcrumbs
• 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce, divided (see Note)
• 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
• 1 1/2 teaspoons canola oil, divided
• 8 cups trimmed watercress, (2 bunches or one 4-ounce bag)
• 1/4 cup Shao Hsing rice wine, or dry sherry (see Note)

PREPARATION

1. Place rack in upper third of oven; preheat the broiler. Coat a broiler pan and rack with cooking spray.
2. Gently mix beef, bell pepper, scallions, breadcrumbs, 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce and ginger in a medium bowl until just combined. Form the mixture into 2 oblong patties and place on the prepared broiler-pan rack. Brush the tops of the patties with 1/2 teaspoon oil. Broil, flipping once, until cooked through, about 4 minutes per side.
3. Meanwhile, heat the remaining 1 teaspoon oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add watercress and cook, stirring often, until just wilted, 1 to 3 minutes. Divide the watercress between 2 plates. Return the pan to medium-high heat. Add rice wine (or sherry) and the remaining 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce. Cook, stirring, until smooth, bubbling and slightly reduced, about 1 minute. Top the watercress with the Salisbury steaks and drizzle with the pan sauce.

TIPS & NOTES

• Notes: Hoisin sauce is a dark brown, thick, spicy-sweet sauce made from soybeans and a complex mix of spices. Look for it in the Asian section of your supermarket and in Asian markets.
• Shao Hsing (or Shaoxing) is a seasoned rice wine. It is available in most Asian specialty markets and some larger supermarkets in the Asian section. If unavailable, dry sherry is an acceptable substitute.
• Sherry is a type of fortified wine originally from southern Spain. Don't use the “cooking sherry” sold in many supermarkets—it can be surprisingly high in sodium. Instead, purchase dry sherry that's sold with other fortified wines in your wine or liquor store.

Google introduces 'Bacon number' -- What's the largest degree of separation you can find?

the search engine has launched a new tool known as the Bacon number. By typing in any actor’s name followed by the words “Bacon number,” Google will tell you the degree of separation between that actor and Mr. Bacon.

This tool stems from the party game, which tests movie buffs’ cinematic knowledge by challenging them to find the shortest way to connect any random actor to Bacon. With the new Google tool, you’ll never lose the game again! Well, that’s no fun. Who wants to play a game no one can lose?

That’s why we’ve decided to reverse the rules. Using the Bacon number tool, we challenge you to find the largest degree of separation between Kevin Bacon and a famous person of your choosing. Be warned: this is surprisingly hard. For example, you’d think Kim Kardashian would have a high Bacon number, but there’s actually only a two degree separation between the two. (Thanks, Denise Richards.) Here’s what we found:

Paul Wesley: I had to throw a Vampire Diaries cast member in here because I’m just too big a fan not to mention this show any time I can. Sadly, Wesley’s Bacon number is only two.

Christopher Nolan: I was particularly proud of this find. The Dark Knight Rises director’s Bacon number is three.

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi: Thanks to a cameo in The Three Stooges, Snooki’s Bacon number isthree. I was hoping that turning to reality TV stars would help me win.

AT&T Wireless Sold Out: iPhone 5 now has a waiting period of 3 to 4 Weeks

The iPhone 5 fever has hit everyone in the United States. Apple and its associates namely AT&T wireless, Verizon and Sprint are finding it difficult to cater to the orders of iPhone 5. The stocks at the AT&T has been exhausted within 10 hours and to the annoyance of customers.

They  had stayed up awake late in the night were informed that it will take at least two to three weeks to ship the orders. With the AT&T portal down for maintenance, it only added to the irritation of the customers.

Sale of iPhone 5 was started simultaneously by Apple, AT&T, Sprint and Verizon from midnight. However many users complained that they were not able to open their AT&T account. Users continued till the wee hours before giving up. There was an option to order directly from Apple which had given a delivery date on September 21^st. However this option was also closed by 1 AM PDT when Apple had sold out all its first batch iPhone 5.

AT&T wireless has declared that it will deliver the iPhone 5 in 18 to 21 days. So it seems that the deliveries will be made between September 28 and October 5. However AT&T was referring to business days when it says that it will deliver the iPhone 5 in 20 days.
